Make sure your Resolution is correct because I had an issue where I had to manually add mine otherwise the game kept crashing after I hit PLAY. Install the GOG version and start the game from FalloutLauncher.exe so you can customize Options which will create a new Fallout3 folder inside Documents > My Games that will have FALLOUT.INI and FalloutPrefs.ini inside. You may have already but you should look for any installed folders/files related to FO3 in your Documents > My Games folder and where you installed the game, then delete them. Using old files from the Steam version seems to cause a lot of issues for people. It is not needed anymore for the GOG version but it is still best to find and remove it just in case it may cause issues. GFWL is 'Games for Windows LIVE', which was required to play FO3 with Steam.
